Dr. Escarria earned his degree, did his residency in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at New York Medical College, then moved down to Florida. He spent a good stretch of time at the VA in West Palm, where he worked with veterans and deepened his belief in whole-person care — not just managing symptoms, but supporting the person behind them.
In recent years, he’s also helped guide many through detox from opioids and alcohol — work that requires both clinical skill and a calm, compassionate approach. People who’ve been in his care will often say, “He actually listens.” And he does.
His guiding question in every visit is simple:
